Karisma Kapoor (born June 25, 1974) is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. Born into the Kapoor film family, she made her acting debut with the romantic drama *Prem Qaidi* (1991). Her early screen credits included *Jigar* (1992), *Anari* (1993), *Raja Babu* (1994), *Andaz Apna Apna* (1994), *Coolie No. 1* (1995), and *Jeet* (1996).

In 1996, Kapoor starred in the romance *Raja Hindustani*, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She subsequently won the National Film Award and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for the musical romance *Dil To Pagal Hai* (1997).
