Yorgos Mavropsaridis

Biography

Yorgos Mavropsaridis, born November 21, 1954, in Athens, Greece, is a Greek film editor known for his collaboration with director Yorgos Lanthimos. A London Film School graduate, he began editing commercials, where he met Lanthimos at a Greek advertising agency. Mavropsaridis has edited all of Lanthimos’ films, including Dogtooth (2009), The Lobster (2015), The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017), The Favourite (2018), and Poor Things (2023). His minimal-cut editing style enhances narrative flow. He won a 2019 European Film Award for The Favourite and received Oscar nominations for Best Film Editing for The Favourite (2019) and Poor Things (2024).
