Casey Carter

Biography

Filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist. He holds bachelor’s degrees in physics and photography from Tennessee State University and a master’s in architecture from the University of Michigan. His work engages nonfiction storytelling in film and video, photography, data visualization, and cartography. Carter’s practice centers on themes of governmentality, geography, environmentalism, and personal subjectivities. He has been a fellow of the Sundance Documentary Program, the International Documentary Association (IDA), among others. To Use a Mountain is his first feature film.
