Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan (born December 27, 1965), known professionally as Salman Khan, is an Indian actor, film producer, and television personality who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. After a supporting role in *Biwi Ho To Aisi* (1988), he had his breakthrough leading role in the musical romance *Maine Pyar Kiya* (1989), which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Throughout the 1990s, his releases included *Sanam Bewafa* (1991), *Saajan* (1991), *Andaz Apna Apna* (1994), *Karan Arjun* (1995), *Judwaa* (1997), and *Biwi No.1* (1999).
