Paco Alvarez

Biography

Paco Álvarez is a Mexican filmmaker, writer, musician, and documentary director.

In 2009, he directed La esfera in collaboration with NASA and NOAA. The documentary was broadcast internationally by the BBC. In 2010, he directed Los Serdán, secretos de una familia de héroes, which won an award at the Metropolitan Film Festival in New York.

His 2022 documentary SAL explores the life of legendary Mexican boxer Salvador Sánchez. The film received more than 15 international awards, including recognition at festivals in Tokyo, Cannes, Rome, Paris, and London.

In 2023, his first narrative feature, Diario de un viaje inesperado, was released theatrically in Mexico. The film is available on Amazon...
