Imani Muñoz

Biography

Filmmaker, animator, editor and dancer.

She studied Theater at the College of Dramatic Literature and Theatre, Faculty of Philosophy and Literature, UNAM, before joining the Cinematography degree at the National School of Cinematographic Arts in 2022. Currently specializing in Animated Filmmaking, she explores a poetic and tactile aesthetic through the fusion of analog animation with fiction and documentary cinema. Her training includes workshops with Luis Téllez, Cristóbal León & Joaquín Cociña, Michel Amado, Amanda Woolrich, and Gabriela Luna (Casa Liebre Pinta), among others. Through her work, she seeks to explore movement, texture, and rhythm as pathways to emotion, fantasy and meaning.
