Biography
Fermin Tangüis Figueroa is an independent filmmaker who belonged to the generation of the 90's. In his formative years he worked as an assistant alongside important figures of Peruvian cinema such as Stefan Kaspar, Charo Lino, Danny Gavidia, Juan Carlos Torrico, Maria Ruiz and Armando Robles Godoy. After that experience, he began a career as an independent filmmaker and has directed many short films, a feature film and two documentaries. He won the award for best short film at the Lima University Anthropological Film Festival in 1996 and received the silver Kantu for the talent shown in "Otra Vez Xera" his first short film.
