Gabriel Gutierrez Morales

Biography

Tijuana born and raised, Gabriel Gutierrez Morales is a multidisciplinary queer artist and filmmaker based in Seattle.

As a queer immigrant, his work centers on intimate explorations of queerness, race and sexuality. He is deeply drawn to stories about connection and disconnect in relation to identity, displacement, and shame.

His short documentary A Certain Kind (2024) explores bodily performance and sexual autonomy through ethical and consent-based pornography created by a small community of Portland-based adult content creators. The short has screened internationally at festivals such as AmDocs and the Guanajuato International Film Festival.
