Cristina Solano Mata is a Costa Rican filmmaker who works in production, screenwriting, and directing. Recurrent themes in her work include spirituality, dreams, and connections to nature. With Todas las Lunas (Under the Moonlight, 2020), she started a film career that would continue with El porqué de las lágrimas (Butterfly Tears, 2023), which has screened at festivals such as the ICARO Central American International Film Festival and the Lúdico Latin American Film Festival, where Todas las Lunas won Best National Short Film.
