BJA Samuel is a British writer, filmmaker and illustrator whose work spans fiction, experimental cinema, visual storytelling and explorations of art, culture and history.

As a writer, Samuel creates darkly imaginative fiction concerned with grief, morality, human desire and violence, often combining psychological and philosophical ideas with surreal or unsettling imagery.

As a filmmaker, BJA Samuel works primarily with archival and found footage, creating experimental documentaries and visual essays from interviews, television material, educational films, early cinema and other fragments of the moving-image archive.
