Marie Fages

Biography

Marie Fages is a filmmaker, artist, and scenographer, graduated of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome (2011) and EnsAD in Paris (2013). She develops a practice inspired by the places she has lived in and passed through — La Réunion, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, Berlin — as well as by encounters with singular individuals, to bring forth forms of emancipation that emerge from the crumbling of dominant narratives.

Through experimental cinema, she creates sensorial forms inhabited by mythical figures in motion and transformation. Her work explores the power of imagination to open spaces for transformation and freedom.
