Sekhar Kammula

Biography

Sekhar Kammula (born February 4, 1972) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer who works in Telugu cinema. An alumnus of Howard University with a Master of Fine Arts in film directing, he made his feature directorial debut with the independent bilingual film *Dollar Dreams* (2000), which earned him the National Film Award for Best Debut Film of a Director. He followed this by writing, directing, and producing the romantic drama *Anand* (2004) and the drama *Godavari* (2006), winning the Nandi Award for Best Director for both projects.
