Kristof Hoornaert

Biography

Kristof Hoornaert (1980, Belgium) is a writer-director who studied Audiovisual Arts in Ghent and Brussels. His first short film "Kaïn" got nominated for the Golden Bear at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival. He wrote, directed and produced his second short film "The Fall", a 17 minute no-budget short film that was shot in only 1 day. The film won several awards and screened at more than 40 film festivals worldwide. The film also screened several times on national television. His third short film "Empire" premiered in the world competition of the 39th Montreal World Film Festival and got selected for the 59th BFI London Film Festival.
