Biography
Nando Parrado is a Uruguayan businessman, television producer and presenter, author, and survivor of the 1972 Andes flight disaster. After the crash of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, he and Roberto Canessa crossed the Andes in search of help, leading to the rescue of the remaining survivors. Parrado later wrote Miracle in the Andes, a memoir about the disaster and its aftermath.
