Giorgos Tzortzis

Biography

George Tzortzis (Athens, 30 July 1938 - 14 January 2019) was a Greek television and film actor.

He was born in Athens on 30 July 1938. He made his theatre debut in 1960 and in cinema in 1961. He made his theatre debut in Alejandro Casona's play "Trees Die Standing", with the troupe of Vasilis Diamantopoulos and Maria Alkaios. Participation in many other troupes followed, with the longest-lasting one with the troupe of Dimitris Myrat and Voula Zoumboulakis.

In the mid-1970s, he created his own troupe with his then wife Tonia Kaziani, with whom he staged important works of the international repertoire.
