Giorgos Katakouzinos

Biography

George Katakouzinos was born in 1943 in Alexandria, Egypt, and after studying film in Athens and Paris, he worked as an assistant director on several Greek films before making his own films. In 1976, he made the short film “Nights” and in 1982, his first feature film, “Angel”, starring Michalis Maniatis and Dionysis Xanthos. The film, which was based on true events, was a great commercial success and caused a variety of reactions. Five years later, Katakouzinos presented his second film, “Absences”.
