The Boys

Overview

The story takes place in a world where superheroes are extremely powerful and widely admired by the public. However, many of them abuse their powers and behave irresponsibly behind the scenes. The main characters are a covert group known as “The Boys,” led by Billy Butcher, who work to monitor and, when necessary, confront these superheroes. Rather than presenting superheroes as traditional heroes, The Boys uses dark humor, graphic violence, satire, and mature themes to explore power, corruption, celebrity culture, corporate influence, and the consequences of unchecked authority. A major focus of the series is the tension between the public image of superheroes and their private actions.
