Skyskryp12

Overview

The video is based on the music piece “Skyskryp12” by Radian, from the album Distorted Rooms (2023). Its point of departure is the architecture of São Paulo, in particular the organically shaped, wave-like buildings by Oscar Niemeyer. These structures are visually transformed into “Distorted Spaces”: buildings fragment, mirror and overlap, their forms warping in response to the music. Drawing on the compositional strategies of Distorted Rooms—shifts in dynamics, the dissolution of lines and the interweaving of layers—the video establishes a reciprocal relationship between sound and space. Architecture and music influence one another, generating a mutable and unstable spatial condition. The work articulates a form of poetic hyperrealism, in which urban reality and experimental sound structures converge and are reconfigured.
