Overview
In 2008, the United States launched "Project Cassandra" to uncover how Hezbollah finances its military and terrorist activities through drug trafficking and money laundering. This three-part report investigates the project. By 2008, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) had gathered sufficient evidence to demonstrate that Hezbollah had transformed from a military and political organization into an international criminal group earning up to $1 billion annually from drug and arms trafficking, money laundering, and other criminal activities.
